Most divers visit Bonaire for five to seven days. Two of those days are pure shore diving. The other three are training days if you want them to be. A Nitrox certification takes half a day. Night diving takes two evenings. Deep Diving takes two mornings. You can stack two or three specialties into a single trip without it feeling like school.
Tell us when you arrive and what you want to work on. We build a schedule that leaves time for fun dives, rest days, and whatever else Bonaire throws at you.
PLAN A DIVE WEEKNine out of ten divers who visit Bonaire for a week should have Nitrox. You get 20 to 30 percent more bottom time on every dive. Half a day of theory, no training dives, and you can start using it on your afternoon dive. If you only do one specialty this trip, make it this one.

The Advanced Open Water Diver lets you try five in two days. Deep diving and navigation are set. The other three, perfect buoyancy, night diving, and wreck, round out the program. Each dive counts toward the full specialty later. Depth limit moves to 30 m.

Nitrox. It takes half a day and you use it on every dive after. If you want a second, Deep or Night are the most popular.
How many specialties can I do in one trip?
Two or three in a week is comfortable. Four is possible if you plan well. Tell us your dates and we will map it out.
Do I need to bring my own gear?
No. Rental gear is available for all courses. Some specialties like Navigation recommend owning a compass, but we have rentals for those too.
Can I combine a specialty with regular diving?
Yes. Most specialty courses take one or two days. The rest of your trip is regular shore diving.
What is the difference between a package and booking separately?
Packages bundle multiple specialties at a lower price and include SSI recognition processing. You pick the specialties you want.
Do specialties count toward Divemaster?
Yes. SSI requires Stress & Rescue plus at least two specialties for Divemaster. Most candidates complete four to six before starting their DM program.
What if I already have specialties from another agency?
SSI recognizes crossover certifications from PADI, NAUI, and other agencies. Contact us and we will check what counts.
How deep can I go after Deep Diving?
To 40 meters with the Deep Diving specialty. Without it, your recreational limit is 18 meters (Open Water) or 30 meters (AOWD).
